Biography:

Toni Bandov was born in 1989 in Livno. He obtained a master's degree in Philosophy and Dutch Language and Culture Studies at the University of Zagreb. He translates from Dutch and German, literature and nonfiction. During his studies he devoted himself to studying Afrikaans and Afrikaans literature. Since September 2017 he has been employed as a teaching assistant at the Department of Dutch studies at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb.


Research interests: 

Dutch and Flemish post-war literature, the (anti)colonial novel, migrant literature, the development of Afrikaans, the cultural and historical circumstances after the fall of Antwerp, the Flemish movement
