Course description: This course covers following topics: 1. introduction; 2. literary translation: definitions; 3.-4. literary translation in historical overview; 5-7. arts of literary translation. 7-8. translation of novella in the 19. century; 9-10. translation of novella in the modern period; 11-12. translation of contemporary prose 13. translation of poetry; 14. How to translate a drama?

Learning outcomes: Students will be able to translate different types of literary texts from German into Croatian.

Teaching methods: teacher-led demonstrations in the classroom, presentations, classroom discussion, translation
